Mahomes set retail presale looks like the best buy in BoBA
Griffey Edition sealed already trades like a blue-chip. Hobby boxes that pre-ordered at $385 now clear about $819.11 on the secondary. The Oct 1 Mahomes retail menu prices a Day 1 stack — Release Day Blaster plus two blasters plus two double-megas — at that same $385. Using live Griffey comps, that bundle marks to about $706.07.

Oct 1 is retail allocation, not hobby leftovers
Codes go out by email and text on October 1. Limit one per person. Do not share the code. If you already parked the $5 deposit and have not pre-ordered, you are in: you get a code for a Blaster Box. You can also request a different retail item or bundle on the official post.
The chase is the Mahomes Release Day promo SP auto, found in the Release Day Blaster. On the published menu that box is not a standalone SKU — it comes in the Day 1 Bundle and the Party Bundle. Every Release Day Blaster also guarantees a Mahomes promo of the diving-throw art.

Regular Griffey blasters launched at $39.99 and now print about $53.32 over 90 days. Mahomes matches that sticker at $39.99, or $29.99 with the deposit. Double-megas are the cleaner retail win: Griffey DMBs print about $165.36 against an $84.99 sticker, while Mahomes asks $115. Hobby is the warning label. Griffey hobby that started at $385 now trades about 2.1×. Mahomes Update hobby is already changing hands around $491.58 before retail codes even fire.

Mahomes wants $385.00 — the same dollars Griffey hobby asked on pre-order, for a stack that includes the auto-chance box. Party Bundle is three of those at $1,155 versus about $2,118.21.
Griffey Release Day Blasters last sold at $289.99 and have printed as high as $600.00. That is the SKU people chase on the aftermarket. On this Mahomes menu the only official way to that box is Day 1 or Party — not a standalone retail blaster.
Griffey already printed monster singles
Sealed is the entry. The ceiling is the checklist. Griffey Edition has already moved The Kid Inspired Ink Superfoil 1/1 as a PSA 9 on Goldin at $73,200.00, plus a cluster of Superfoil and Inspired Ink hits around $5k–$6k. If Mahomes hits even a fraction of that singles heat — and he is a larger mainstream name than almost anyone in the Griffey set — the Oct 1 retail allocation is the cheap seat.

- Release Day is designed as an event box: guaranteed diving-throw promo, plus the SP auto chase. Griffey Release Day Blasters still trade near $268.71 months later.
- Hobby is already discovering a clearing price. Mahomes Update Hobby Box last sold at $500.00 with a 90-day average of $491.58 (sales history). Blaster / Double-Mega / Day 1 at $39.99 / $115 / $385 is the side of the market that has not been bid up yet.
- Griffey hobby cases still clear about $4,300.00 after a $5,400.00 print. If Mahomes demand rhymes, buying official retail now is cheaper than buying the same configurations on the secondary later.
